Solarize Hudson Valley is a limited time program funded by NYSERDA to make solar easier and more affordable for homeowners and building owners in the Hudson Valley. Our purpose is to provide reliable, up-to-date information and support for people who are curious about going solar. Solarize takes the work out of your homework, by pre-selecting trusted installation partners and digesting the basic information that a home- or business owner needs to consider.   Since 2015, Solarize HV has helped over 390 homes and businesses to install over 3.3 megawatts of solar. We have provided over 130 workshops and special events, involving many, many community volunteers all over the Hudson Valley.

Community Solar is here!

A Community Solar project is a group of solar panels installed in a sunny location by a solar developer. Anyone in the area can access the clean energy produced by the panels and receive credits on their electric bill.

This makes solar available to many more people: not only homeowners but renters, condo dwellers, small and large businesses, non-profits, churches and other institutions.

Community Solar projects offer local, clean energy that offsets your total electric bill with a 10% discount. Energy is delivered to you by your utility the same way it always has been. No fees, no termination penalty.

This has been a long time coming…but it’s finally here! Community Solar projects to serve Central Hudson and Orange & Rockland customers are signing up members now.

Solarize Hudson Valley is here to help explain the projects, to assure you they’re on the up & up, and answer your questions.
