Community Solar is coming!

A Community Solar project is a group of solar panels installed in a sunny location by a solar developer. Anyone in the area can access the clean energy produced by the panels and receive credits on their electric bill.

This makes solar available to many more people: not just homeowners, but renters, condo dwellers, small and large businesses, non-profits, churches and other institutions.

Community Solar projects offer local, clean energy that offsets a portion of your electric bill with predictable rates and terms. Energy is delivered to you by your utility the same way it always has been.

This has been a long time coming…but it’s almost here. Community Solar projects in Ulster, Dutchess & Orange Counties will be signing up members this fall.

Solarize Hudson Valley is here to help explain the projects, to assure you they’re on the up & up, and answer your questions.

Who Is Eligible?

You don’t need to be a property owner or even have a rooftop to join a Community Solar project. You just need to have an account with an electric utility and a desire to save.

This includes:

  • Homeowners
  • Renters
  • Condo Dwellers
  • Small Businesses
  • Large Businesses
  • Institutions
  • Municipalities
